Continuous Provision

High quality continuous provision is a feature of our curriculum at Crich Church of England Infant School. Throughout the school, areas of continuous provision are created to act as provocations for learning where children are provided with opportunities to explore, continue, practise and extend their learning in the absence of an adult. We know that children learn differently through this approach.
Learning Environments
Crich Church of England Infant School aims to provide a rich, creative, inclusive and challenging curriculum that inspires all children. The approach engages all learners whatever their learning style. All our classrooms have a variety of learning areas which allows children to practise and consolidate previously taught skills and concepts. This approach allows children to take responsibility for their learning and, as a result, are engaged and they learn for themselves. Play is at the heart of this approach. Enabling children to be fully engaged in their learning and experience the things they are being taught.
The classroom learning environments will -
-
Immerse the children in learning
-
Challenges change when topic changes
-
Transport children to a time, a place or event beyond the classroom.
-
Encourage collaboration, socialization, persistence and resilience.
Outdoor learning is an extension of our learning environment offering children the opportunity to practice on a larger scale. Opportunities are provided to develop gross motor and core strength daily.
