Little Wandle Letters and Sounds (Reception and Year 1)
Little Wandle Spelling (Year 2)
Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised is a systematic synthetic phonics (SSP) program for Reception and Year 1 children, designed to help them learn to read letters, blend sounds, and decode words effectively. It is widely used in schools across the UK and supported by the Department for Education.
Little Wandle Spelling is designed to bridge the gap between phonics and formal spelling instruction in Year 2. It helps children consolidate their understanding of the alphabetic code and develop confidence in spelling new words. The program emphasizes phonics as the primary approach, whilst also introducing etymology, morphology, and grammar to support accurate spelling of more complex words.
Wrap Around Care

Wrap Around Care - Breakfast and After School Provision is available at Crich Church of England Infant School 5 days per week. The provision is run by members of staff from both the Infant School.

Breakfast Provision - is available from 7:30am - 8:45am at a cost of £4.50 per session per child. During the session breakfast will be provided which can include toast, cereal, fruit juice or milk.
Afterschool Provision - is available 3:15pm - 6:00pm at a cost of £8.50 per session per child. During the session a snack will be provided which can be soup, sandwiches, beans on toast, wraps and a drink.
As part of our Wrap Around Care the children will be able to take part in a number of activities from outdoor sport to learning how to knit!

All children should be dropped off at the Infant School in the mornings for breakfast club and then Infant School staff will walk the junior children down to the Junior School. Similarly, in the afternoon Junior/Infant School staff will walk the junior children up to the Infant School to access the afterschool provision.
Invoices will be issued from Crich Church of England Infant School fortnightly.
Payment can be made by cash, cheque, bank transfer or through the Government Tax-Free Childcare voucher scheme.

After School Sports Club
After School Sports Club currently takes place on Monday's from 3:30pm till 4:30pm at the Scout Hut, Jeffries Lane, Crich, DE4 5DT.
This is currently open to all children who attend Crich C of E Infant School, with a charge of £3.00 per pupil per session. The children are walked round to the Scout Hut and we ask if children can then be collected from the Scout Hut please once the session finishes. The sessions are currently held by our AVSSP Teacher, Mr P. Bookings can be made via ParentPay.
